Hyderabad: R. Krishnaiah, the national president of the BC-Sakshema Association, announced his intention to spearhead a movement aimed at securing justice for Backward Classes (BCs) across the nation, transcending political affiliations. He made these remarks during a media conference held at BC Bhawan in Vidyanagar.

Krishnaiah expressed his dissatisfaction with both the central and state governments, claiming they have failed to provide adequate justice to BCs. He highlighted that queries raised in legislatures regarding BC issues have often gone unanswered. Despite holding a four-year term as an MP, he stated that he felt compelled to resign from his position due to a lack of action on behalf of BCs.

“Our movement will manifest in various forms. I am committed to advocating for public and BC rights,” he asserted. He emphasized the need for 50 percent representation for BCs in legislative assemblies, alongside a fair share of power within the state. He criticized the current reservation system, arguing that it should be expanded within local institutions. “Significant sacrifices are required for the upliftment of BCs,” he added.

Krishnaiah outlined plans to establish village, mandal, and district committees to strengthen the movement. He called for participation from all political parties, stating, “My life’s goal is to secure 50 percent reservation for BCs in the Legislative Assembly. Every BC child should be encouraged to join this fight.”

Additionally, during the conference, he met MLC Theenmar Mallanna, who echoed his sentiments and emphasized the necessity of justice for BCs. Mallanna also extended an invitation to Krishnaiah to join the Congress party, highlighting a potential alliance in the pursuit of BC rights.
