Amaravati: CPI National Secretary K. Narayana has claimed that the allegations involving industrialist Gautam Adani are causing political upheaval across the country. In a video released during his visit to the United States, Narayana alleged that Adani and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had a favorable relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He urged the Prime Minister to refrain from interference as legal proceedings have been initiated against Adani in the United States.
Meanwhile, CPI State Secretary Ramakrishna criticized both the central and state governments for their silence on the allegations. Highlighting discrepancies in power agreements, he questioned why a unit in Gujarat was purchased at ₹1.99 per unit, while a similar unit in Andhra Pradesh was bought for ₹2.49 per unit. He accused the previous government of burdening the public with ₹1,750 crores and other hefty agreements that benefit corporate entities at the expense of taxpayers.
Ramakrishna demanded Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu take strict action against those involved and register criminal cases. He further insisted that those responsible for financial irregularities must face jail time to ensure accountability.
