Cross Border Firing In Kashmir Kills Nine And Injures 22

Srinagar: Nearly nine people were killed and 22 others were injured in a cross border firing in the wee hours of Friday in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack occurred when border guards of Pakistan targeted the border outposts of BSF and civilian areas in Ranbir Singh Pura and Arnia sectors along the International border in the state.

The rangers of Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing targeting the areas in the early hours of Friday, according to BSF officials. The officials also added that they used small arms and later they fired mortar bombs. The troops of BSF retaliated by firing same calibre weapons, according to the spokesperson of BSF.

The officials of Pakistan in Sialkot said that nearly seven civilians of Pakistan were killed and many others injured in the firing by BSF in Sucheetgarh, Charwah, Chaprar and Harpal sectors along the International border.
