Delhi Weather Update: Clouds, Drizzle & Warming Trend — What Residents Should Expect
The national capital of India, New Delhi, is experiencing a notable shift in its weather pattern this week, with calm skies giving way to light rain and changing temperatures, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

As of 18 February 2026, much of Delhi woke up under cloudy skies with a chance of very light rain or drizzle, especially during the forenoon and afternoon hours. Winds may pick up briefly, and scattered thundershowers are possible over isolated pockets of the city — an unusual twist as the region transitions from dry to more unsettled weather.
Temperatures are staying moderate for this time of year. Daytime temperatures will hover between 26–29°C, while night temperatures will drop to 14–17°C. Despite the pleasant range, haze and poor air quality may persist in some areas due to lingering smog and pollution.
Looking ahead, the 7- to 10-day forecast points toward mostly clear and warmer conditions after today’s brief wet spell. Expect plenty of sunshine, rising temperatures and hazy skies through the latter half of the week and into the weekend, with rain chances decreasing significantly.
Residents are advised to plan outdoor activities accordingly — carry umbrellas today for sporadic showers but enjoy sunnier, warmer weather later in the week. Keep an eye on air quality updates, especially if sensitive to smog or respiratory conditions.
