Soon after the Telangana election results were made live on Tuesday, two politicians landed in hospitals after finding out they were defeated by their opponents.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, a Congress candidate contesting in Nalgonda area, lost to his Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) opponent, Kancharla Bhupal Reddy. He was rushed to an unnamed hospital due to a sudden rise in his blood pressure. The hospital denied admitting Mr. Reddy, however, other sources say he was taken there for a regular check up.

In a similar incident, TRS candidate Tummala Nageswara Rao was taken to a hospital in Khammam after he started complaining of chest pains. Mr. Rao lost to his Congress opponent, Kandala Upender Reddy, in Palair constituency by 7,669 votes.
