France won their second World Cup title on Sunday, July 15 beating Croatia by 4-2 in the FIFA World Cup 2018 final in Moscow. The 4-2 has remained the most popular scoreline in World cup finals since Uruguay beat Argentina.
After the 1998 World Cup Finals, France made a come back after 2 decades and won the title yesterday. This win makes Didier Deschamps the third person in the world to win the Cup as a player (1998) and as a manager (2018) after Brazil’s Mario Zagallo(1962, 1970) and Germany’s Franz Beckenbauer (1974, 1990).
France’s youngest player, who was born after 1998 World Cup, Kylian Mbappe Lottin was awarded the Best Youngest Player while Croatia’s Captain Luka Modric was named the Best Player. Thibaut Courtois of the Belgian team was awarded the Golden Glove for being the best goalkeeper of the Tournament.
