Goa to Witness Unveiling of 77-Foot Bronze Statue of Lord Ram by PM Modi — A Landmark Spiritual Moment
South Goa prepares for a historic moment as Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveils a towering 77-foot bronze statue of Lord Ram today at the grounds of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Mutt in Canacona. The occasion marks the opening of the Math’s 550th-year celebrations — a moment steeped in spiritual heritage and cultural pride.

The statue, sculpted by renowned artist Ram V. Sutar — best known for his work on the iconic Statue of Unity — is being hailed as the tallest depiction of Lord Ram anywhere in the world. Ahead of the unveiling, the organisers prepared a special helipad within the mutt premises to receive the Prime Minister, who will arrive by mid-afternoon.
The inauguration will also include the launch of a new Ramayana Theme Park, designed to enrich the spiritual and cultural experience for visitors and pilgrims. With over 15,000 devotees expected today and nearly 1.2 lakh visitors anticipated during the 11-day festivities, organisers view the event as a landmark spiritual gathering.
Meanwhile, the state Governor, the Chief Minister, and Union ministers plan to attend, highlighting the event’s national and regional significance. For devotees and tourists, the magnificent statue and the celebrations could soon elevate Partagali Mutt into a major spiritual landmark.
