On Monday, security forces arrested two militants of Harkat ul Mujahideen in Handwara in Jammu and Kashmir.
These arrests come after security forces charted a plan to clean Kashmir of terrorists.
Wahab in Parray Mohalla in Hajin area was cordoned off by security forces while they launched a search operation. The security forces took action after gaining specific intelligence that there were militants hiding in the area.
North Kashmir’s Deputy Inspector General Abdul Qum Manhas reported that the security forces were raiding the house of Basharat Salim commander of Harkat ul Mujahideen. Reports stated that Basharat and his companion were holed up in a house in Sapore city of Baramulla district.
But the commander managed to escape while other militants fired at the security forces. The shootout ended and two terrorists were arrested. Apart from that, the police seized an AK assault rifle, 3 magazines, 90 rounds of bullets, two grenades and a laptop.
