Bengaluru: In the early hours of Friday, the Kanyakumari – Bengaluru Island Express derailed near Jolarpettai in Vellore district between Somanayakanpatti and Patchur stations. However, no casualties have been reported. According to officials, the train derailed in Bengaluru division of South Western Railway.
With the incident, the traffic on the tracks has been affected and the Southern Railway also announced the cancellation of few trains including express trains between the two cities. 2533 0714 is the helpline number.
