The campaign committee of the Indian National Congress (INC,) on the 17th of April, held a meeting to promote the Nyay (Nyuntam Aay Yojana) scheme of the INC, launched prior to the Lok Sabha elections.

The INC leaders and campaign strategist believe the Nyay scheme is a game changer for the Party, following which, they decided to use the scheme and send a personalised letter to every poor family in India. The personalised letter will explain the benefits of the Nyay scheme.

The Party strategist said, “Nyay means justice. So, we want Nyay for GST, for women, in the job sector and for other issues as well.”

According to sources, the INC sent personalised letters from Rahul Gandhi, the President of the INC, to 12 million poor families, who will be voting in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections, scheduled on the 23rd of April.

The strategy will help the Party to grow strong against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by attracting the citizens of India to the scheme.

The personalised letter states, “The poor, workers, farmers, small traders, middle class and businessmen contribute to make India. But in the last five years, voices of all these people were throttled and the Modi government ran only for 15-20 industrialists. The policies of the government doesn’t take into account the hard work of the farmers, work for the young people, income for the poor, labourers’ wages and the lives of small traders. Instead of listening to these people, decisions such as the note ban and the Gabbar Singh Tax (a reference to GST) have hit their livelihoods hard. (sic.)”

Speaking about the success of the strategy, on the 17th of April, the Party sent the link of the letter to 1.9 million people. In a few minutes, approximately 4,40,000 people downloaded the letter and read the message.

The Party further said, they will send similar letters regarding the Nyay scheme to the voters as a campaign strategy during all the phases of the Lok Sabha elections.

Apart from Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) of Uttar Pradesh East, is also expected to send such personalised messages to the voters.

The Lok Sabha elections started from the 11th of April and will continue till the 19th of May 2019.

The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections are the INC and the BJP.

The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
