Tadepalli: YSRCP Vijayawada City President, Malladi Vishnu, has strongly criticized former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his alleged failure to safeguard Hindu temples during his time in office. Vishnu cited a series of incidents where temples, which should be places of worship and peace, faced serious threats under Naidu’s leadership.
Vishnu highlighted the recent incident in Hanakanahal, Rayadurg Constituency, Anantapur district, where a chariot belonging to the Sri Rama temple was set on fire. He also recalled a similar event from 2017, when the chariot of the historic Sri Gopalaswami Temple in West Godavari district was destroyed during Naidu’s rule. Vishnu expressed concern over the safety of religious sites, questioning how ordinary citizens could feel secure if even temples were not protected.
Vishnu further criticized Naidu’s government for neglecting Hindu religious sites and turning a blind eye to the concerns of devotees. He referenced the Ramateertham incident, where the idol of Lord Rama was vandalized, and noted the silence of those who had previously expressed outrage over such attacks.
The YSRCP leader demanded swift action to catch the culprits responsible for the Anantapur incident, warning that the Hindu community would not forgive the government if they failed to act. Vishnu emphasized that protecting religious sites should be a top priority for any administration.
