Srinagar: A jawan was killed in an attack on Wednesday night in the district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. Last night the troops of Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control in Poonch.

According to officials, the soldier, Sepoy Rachpal was severely injured on Wednesday in sniper fire by Pakistan at a forward post along the Line of Control. The incident occurred when Sepoy, who belonged to 22-Sikh unit, was guarding Parvinder post. On Wednesday, there were other incidents of ceasefire violations in the Kashmir valley. This is the third time in the month of July that troops of Pakistan carried the sniper attacks along the LoC. In such similar incidents, two BSF jawans were also killed in the valley.
