PM Modi Takes First Visit Inside Surat’s Bullet-Train Station – A Leap Towards 2-Hour Mumbai-Ahmedabad Travel!

PM Modi at Bullet Train Site!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning arrived in Gujarat to inspect the under-construction bullet train station in the Antroli area of Surat, core to India’s first high-speed rail corridor linking Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

The corridor — spanning 508 km, with 352 km in Gujarat and 156 km in Maharashtra — continues to advance as the country’s flagship high-speed rail project.

During his visit, the Prime Minister met with officials overseeing the project, reviewed on-site construction, examined progress data, and emphasised the role this infrastructure will play in accelerating travel, business and tourism between western India’s key cities.

Officials highlight that once operational, the high-speed corridor will cut travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to around two hours. Engineers designed the Surat station to balance aesthetics and utility, reflecting the region’s industrial identity while offering modern amenities and smooth connectivity to existing transit networks.

Beyond the station review, Mr Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation for several infrastructure and development projects worth over ₹9,700 crore in Gujarat’s Narmada district, strengthening both advanced transport and regional growth.

For readers keen on India’s infrastructure milestones, this inspection symbolises a visible step into the next chapter of rail travel — one built on speed, precision engineering, and regional integration. The Surat visit underscores not only the ambition of the bullet-train project but also the government’s growing attention to linking cities, unlocking growth corridors, and redefining how Indians commute.
