Hyderabad: A total of 70.66% of polling is registered at Telangana assembly elections as per the updated information provided by the Election Commission until late night on Thursday. Polling percentage in rural areas is very high when compared to urban areas. Munugodu stood top in the state with 91.51%, while Yakatpura stood last with 39.69%.

Voters at rural and remote areas made a beeline at polling stations from early morning to cast their vote and give mandate. Meanwhile, polling stations at urban areas mainly Hyderabad limits wore deserted look until 3 pm. A total of 46.56% polling is registered in Greater Hyderabad city limits. 

Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district stood top with 90.03% followed by Medak with 86.69% and Janagama with 85.74%.

Last minute rush is seen at polling stations and voters ran inside the polling stations before 5.00pm.Voters were seen waiting at queue lines at a few assembly constituencies until 8.00pm on Thursday. Villagers at Hatnuru village of Sangareddy district were seen waiting at polling stations until late night. Polling continued until 9.30 pm at Timmapur. 

Voters faced problems with defunct EVM machines at a few polling stations. As per the reports EVMS at 30 locations failed to function and officials made alternative arrangements.
