R. Kanagaraj, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK,) passed away, on the 21st of March.
Kanagaraj, 66 years old, died due to a massive cardiac arrest at his residence, in Sulur of Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu.
The news was confirmed by the officials of the Sulur Police Station, who said, Mr. Kanagaraj passed away after having a cardiac arrest while reading the newspaper.
In 2016, R. Kanagaraj was elected as a MLA for the Sulur constituency, representing the AIADMK, and won the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections against the candidate of the Indian National Congress (INC.)
The AIADMK leaders and politicians of Tamil Nadu are expected to visit Coimbatore to pay their last respects to R. Kanagaraj.
Kanagaraj is survived by his wife, Rathinam, son, Shanmugasundaram, and daughter, Bamavijaya.
