The late Hemant Karkare, the Chief of the Anti Terror Squad (ATS,) was the investigative officer of the Malegaon blast case. According to Ms. Thakur, the ATS department of Maharashtra asked Hemant to let her go if he doesn’t have proof, but he refused to do so and kept investigating the case.
