As Bathukamma (Sept 30) and Dasara (Oct 2) approach, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has rolled out a major plan to handle the surge in travel demand across the state. Between 20th September and 2nd October 2025, a total of 7,754 special buses will operate from Hyderabad / Secunderabad to districts in Telangana and neighbouring states.

Of these specials, 377 buses will offer advance booking facilities to help travellers plan ahead. Recognising peak rush, TGSRTC will also run additional return services on October 5 and 6.
Departure points include major stations such as MGBS, JBS and CBS in Hyderabad, plus busy city nodal points like Uppal, LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, KPHB Colony, Aramghar and Santosh Nagar. Routes cover all districts within Telangana and extend into Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
There will be a fare revision under Government Order No. 16 for special services on select days — specifically Sept 20; Sept 27–30; Oct 1, 5 and 6 — to offset empty return journeys, particularly costs for diesel. Regular buses will continue at standard rates.
To ensure comfort and safety, TGSRTC is setting up temporary passenger camps at major boarding points, equipped with seating, drinking water, public address systems, and deploying supervisory officers to help manage crowds. Collaboration with police, municipal authorities and traffic departments is underway for smooth operations.
