Delhi: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of Telangana has intensified efforts to secure pending funds amounting to Rs. 693.13 crore under the National Health Mission (NHM). In a meeting with Union Medical and Health Minister JP Nadda at Parliament House in Delhi on Tuesday, Reddy presented a formal appeal to expedite the release of these critical funds.
Highlighting the importance of these funds for enhancing medical services across the state, Chief Minister Reddy outlined the government’s initiatives aimed at bolstering the healthcare system. He assured Minister Nadda that Telangana has diligently implemented the Ayushman Bharat scheme since January, emphasizing its positive impact in urban and rural areas through 5,519 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
The requested funds include Rs. 323.73 crore for fiscal 2023-24 and Rs. 138 crore for the first quarter of 2024-25, which encompass reimbursements and operational expenses crucial for sustaining healthcare services without interruption.
Accompanied by State Ministers Komatireddy Venkatreddy and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, along with MP Anil Kumar Yadav and Telangana’s Special Representative in Delhi, Jitender Reddy, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy urged Minister Nadda to issue immediate orders for the release of these funds, considering the state’s financial constraints and the urgency of maintaining essential medical services.
