Trump Invites PM Modi to Join Gaza ‘Board of Peace’ Initiative
U.S. President Donald Trump has extended a formal invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join a newly proposed international initiative called the “Board of Peace” — a diplomatic effort aimed at securing long-term peace and stability in Gaza following years of conflict. President Trump sent the invitation in a formal letter, which the U.S. Ambassador later shared publicly. Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor.

The United States launched the Board of Peace as part of a broader ceasefire framework between Israel and Hamas. Its stated mission is to help oversee governance, reconstruction, and lasting peace in Gaza — a region devastated by years of fighting. Trump described the initiative as a historic and ambitious effort to cement peace in the Middle East and foster cooperation among global leaders.
India is among a group of nations invited to contribute to this initiative alongside leaders from countries such as Pakistan, Jordan, Brazil, Argentina, and others. While details on India’s decision are yet to emerge from New Delhi, the invitation underscores India’s growing diplomatic footprint in international peace processes.
The Board of Peace framework reportedly includes ambitious plans such as demilitarising parts of Gaza, establishing a new governance structure, and mobilising resources for reconstruction. Some reports note that extended or permanent membership in this body may involve significant financial commitments from participating nations.
As India evaluates the proposal, the invitation highlights New Delhi’s evolving role in global diplomacy and broader geopolitical efforts to stabilise one of the world’s most protracted conflict zones.
