Turkey Coup Attempt: At least 60 dead, 754 people arrested, Say Officials

Turkey: Turkey was much into violence after elements of military backed by tanks staged an attempted coup against the elected government of president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, early hours of  Saturday, which sparked bloody clashes in major cities.
The soldiers took on to the streets overnight and made multiple explosions in the country’s two biggest cities. At least 60 people killed and 336 detained in the night of violence across Turkey. The majority of those killed are civilians and most of those detained are soldiers, a official says.

Turkish airspace was closed and international flights were suspended as the coup plotters flew around in helicopters firing on government buildings. A Turkish lawmaker was reported dead in a bombing at the parliament and at least 17 police officers were killed when their headquarters was attacked, Turkish officials said.

President Erdogan said, dismissed the action “an attempt at an uprising by a minority within our armed forces.” His office declined to disclose his whereabouts saying only that he was in a secure location.
