Trump and Xi Jinping to Meet at U.S.–China Trade Summit Busan 2025

U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in South Korea to attend the much-awaited U.S.–China Trade Summit Busan 2025, where he will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping. The summit is set to shape the future of global trade, economic cooperation, and regional security.

Trump’s arrival in Busan marks the final leg of his Asia tour. Speaking to reporters, he said he expected a “very good outcome” from his meeting with Xi. The two leaders will meet during the APEC 2025 forum, their first face-to-face interaction in six years.

During a luncheon in Gyeongju, Trump called South Korea a “trusted ally” and reaffirmed U.S. commitment to strengthening regional partnerships. His visit focuses on trade, investment, and peace in the Indo-Pacific region.

Trump and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung reportedly agreed on a new trade framework. Under the deal, Seoul could invest nearly $350 billion in U.S. projects, while Washington will offer improved market access and technological collaboration.

Meanwhile, the upcoming U.S.–China Trade Summit Busan 2025 has drawn worldwide attention. Beijing confirmed that Trump and Xi will discuss tariffs, rare-earth exports, and semiconductor supply chains. Analysts believe both sides aim to ease tensions and rebuild mutual trust.

China’s recent move to resume U.S. soybean imports and relax export restrictions hints at a potential thaw. Still, competition in technology and defense remains strong.

For South Korea, the summit presents both opportunity and challenge — to balance its economic ties with China while reinforcing its alliance with the United States.

As Air Force One landed in Busan, Trump stated, “We’re going to make a great deal that works for everyone.” The world now watches as two of the most powerful nations negotiate their next chapter in global diplomacy.
