A video went viral on the internet of a police constable lying on a bed inappropriately touching two girls. This led to the constable being suspended from his post and arrested. Two girls went to the Mainpuri Police station in Uttar Pradesh to file a complaint of getting molested.
The girls were unfortunate to be part of another incident where men violently molested the two sisters. When the girls went to the protectors of the law to their surprise they were violated and touched inappropriately.
Rajesh S., Superintendent of Police has reported that such behavior will not be tolerated. A case has been registered against the accused constable under the POSCO Act. An investigation is being conducted by the police.
The accused has been identified as Ishwari Prasad but he denies all the allegations against him. He spoke to the media and said, “I asked them to go home and touched the hand of one of the women. I did not tease them.”
The BJP government took over Uttar Pradesh in March and the state is being run by Yogi Adityanath. Chief Minister Yogi said the State was “a jungle raj” meaning a lawless land.
