A disturbing video has emerged, from India’s national capital, of a Nigerian man tied to a post and being brutally beaten with sticks.
Reports from the locals state the man was allegedly caught robbing a house in Malviya Nagar in South Delhi. After the locals beat up the man they called the police who arrived at the spot and arrested him.
The reports state that in the early hours of 24th September the Nigerian national was found inside the house of Krishna Kumar. Once the man was handed to the police he was badly wounded and unconscious.
The police questioned the state of the man to which the locals said he had fallen down the stairs while trying to escape. But after two weeks of the incident, the video of the locals beating the man belies their claims.
The video shows the Nigerian man begging for forgiveness as the crowd screams, “Beat him harder.”
The police were unaware of the assault and treated the man at a hospital and produced him in court. The court sentenced him to jail. But now that the video has emerged police have said action will be taken against the attackers in the video.
