Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) National General Secretary V. Vijayasai Reddy has condemned Sharmila for aligning herself with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, asserting that her actions are part of a broader scheme to undermine YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership. He pointed out the irony of Sharmila, the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president, supporting NDA interests while Congress opposes the NDA at the national level.
Speaking at a press conference in Somajiguda, Reddy questioned Sharmila’s disregard for Jagan’s contributions to society, which include support for over 1.5 crore families, financial aid for 80 lakh women, and assistance for more than 40 lakh mothers. He accused Naidu of manipulating Sharmila to turn women against Jagan, confident that the public will see through these tactics.
Reddy also expressed disbelief that Sharmila’s correspondence with Jagan could end up with Naidu, hinting at potential collusion. He claimed that Sharmila has forgotten her past grievances against Naidu, whom she blamed for her father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s death.
In a separate press conference in Tirupati, YSRCP spokesperson Bhumana Karunakar Reddy echoed Reddy’s sentiments, accusing Sharmila of conspiring with Naidu to tarnish YS Rajashekar Reddy’s legacy and politically harm YS Jagan. He emphasized Jagan’s commitment to honest leadership and urged Sharmila to reconsider her choices, noting Jagan’s generosity in sharing his assets with her.
