Vijayawada: On Wednesday morning, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner Swapnil Dinkar Pundkar conducted a field inspection to review beautification efforts at the flyover under Benz Circle. The Commissioner had previously directed officials to enhance greenery at Benz Circle Junction, a key area in the city, to help reduce pollution.
During the inspection, Commissioner Pundkar emphasized the importance of removing silt from side drains to prevent road flooding during rains and ensure unobstructed water flow. He reviewed the current status on-site and found the operations and maintenance of the greenery belt unsatisfactory. The Commissioner instructed officials to improve their performance and remain vigilant in their duties, warning that negligence would result in strict action.
Joining Commissioner Pundkar in the inspection were Additional Commissioner (Projects) K. Satyavati, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) G. Srujana, Executive Engineer A.S.N. Prasad, and other officials.
The beautification and maintenance of Benz Circle Junction is a priority for the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation to enhance the city’s infrastructure and environmental health.
