Amaravati: A delegation of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders, including former ministers Ambati Rambabu and Merugu Nagarjuna, and MLC Lella Appireddy, met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vivek Yadav at the Secretariat on Tuesday. The delegation urged the CEO to publish Form 20s, which contain polling booth-wise results for the recently concluded General Election 2024.

YSRCP highlighted discrepancies in the polling percentages reported at various stages of the election. According to Election Commission of India (ECI) press notes, Andhra Pradesh’s polling percentage was recorded as 68.12% at 8 PM on May 13th, 76.50% by 11:45 PM, and later revised to 80.66% on May 17th. YSRCP claims the actual votes counted surpassed these figures, reaching over 82%.

The delegation reminded the CEO of a formal request for detailed polling information submitted on June 10th, 2024, which has yet to receive a response. YSRCP requested a breakdown of polling percentages and the final number of votes polled in each constituency.

Former Minister Ambati Rambabu emphasized the importance of transparency, stating that several institutions had raised doubts about the election’s conduct. Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna expressed concerns about the Election Commission’s handling of the election data, particularly regarding VVPAT-EVM mismatches and EVM storage security.
