India ranks sixth among the world’s top 10 manufacturing countries, as per the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). Earlier India was in the ninth position.
The Yearbook, published by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), finds that in India, the Manufacturing Value Added (MVA) grew by 7.6% in 2015 compared to the previous year. “India is now the sixth largest manufacturer in the world,” the report announced.
China topped the Yearbook’s list, followed by U.S, Japan, Germany and Korea. The report further added that the quarterly index of industrial production showed a one percent growth in the manufacturing output segment in the last quarter of 2015. The figure is in comparison to the corresponding quarter in the previous year (2014), reported.
