Xiaomi collaborates with Microsoft for the use of Cortana

In a surprising deal, the Chinese technology giant, Xiaomi sold about 1500 patents from Microsoft and in return they pre-installed a few Microsoft Applications on the Bezel-less Xiaomi Mi Mix.

This new launch by Xiaomi comes with inbuilt apps like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Email and Cortana, Microsoft’s personal assistant. Cortana is a Siri(iPhone Personal assistant) inspired application that now is found in all the Microsoft phones.

This agreement between the two Tech-giants happened in June. Microsoft now intends to build sustainable and long-term partners around the world with global tech giants. Their final goal is to give the customer the best technological experience.

Mi Max can be woken up by saying, ‘Hey Cortana‘ which is similar to ‘Hey Siri’ or ‘Okay Google’ to wake up phones from standby.

In January, the One Plus One and One Plus 2 received a software update that came with Cortana and became first android phones to have Microsoft Assistant. They are updated to Cyanogen OS 12.1 that is an advanced version of the previous Cyanogen 12.0. There is scheduled Cyanogen 13 update that might be out in the next year.
