Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi on Saturday donated 25 flats to the families of CRPF martyrs. The CRPF jawans were killed in Naxal attacks in the line of duty. These flats are located in the residential real estate project which is owned by the actor in Thane, Maharastra.
A senior CRPF official said that flats have already been allotted to the slain jawans’ families. This also includes the jawans killed on March 11. The remaining 21 flats will be handed over to paramilitary officers over the next week. The CRPF official also said the jawans of Maharastra were in the State.
The CRPF expressed their gratitude to the actor for this gesture on their twitter handle. The personnel said the actor will also be given names of the 21 remaining jawans soon. The buildings Karrm residency and Karrm Panchtatva are both located in Thane and allotted to the jawans.
This is not the first time an actor extended a helping hand to jawans families. Akshay Kumar has been working towards the betterment of these families and apart from donating he also formulated a site with Union Home Ministry called www.bharatkeveer.gov.in which will receive public donations. The popular badminton player and Olympic Bronze medalist Saina Nehwal also donated Rs. 50,000 each to 12 families.
