At least two people including a policeman were killed on Thursday in an explosion. Many others were also injured in the attack on the occasion of Eid. This is the second attack within a week in Bangladesh. The reports of media in Bangladesh stated that heavy police forces were sent to Kishoreganj, where the attack took place. Reports added that the attackers are holed up in a school. The exchange of gunfire is under way between the attackers and security forces.

The district’s deputy police chief, Tofazzal Hosain told news agency AFP that many people had taken part in the attack and some had been armed with machetes. Another police officer, Mahbubur Rahman said, “They threw a bomb at a police checkpost. A police constable was killed in the explosion. One attacker was killed and another was arrested.”
