Germany: Afghan Teen Attacks Train Passengers Shouting “Allahu Akbar”, 4 Injured

Berlin: On Monday night a Afghan teenager, who was armed with a knife and an axe, attacked train passengers in southern Germany. The culprit wounded four people in the train before he was shot by the police officials. The teen was identified as a 17-year-old Afghan, according to the state Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann. A few witnesses added that the suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attack.

According to police, three of the victims suffered severe injuries and another one was slightly wounded. It is heard that 14 people were being treated for shock. The incident took place when the train was on its way from the Bavarian town of Treuchtlingen to Wuerzburg.

Mr. Herrmann said that the information was that the suspect came to Germany as an unaccompanied minor and had lived in the Wuerzburg area for some time, initially at a refugee facility in the town of Ochsenfurt and more recently with a foster family.
