Kabul: At least 30 people were killed and 116 injured in a suicide bombing that rocked Kabul city earlier today. According to the security officials, the incident occurred in the vicinity of Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Finance compounds in Pul-Mahmood Khan.
After the explosion the security forces immediately cordoned off the area as heavy gunfire continued.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Interior spokesman Sediq Sediqqi confirmed that Kabul police and other security forces are in the Pul-e-Mahmood Khan area.
According to reports, Special Forces have also arrived in the area and heavy fighting underway.
