At the 14th edition of India Conference 2017, actors R. Madhavan and Pawan Kalyan will be speaking at Harvard University. The event will be held on February 11 and 12. The Indian Conference confirmed this news through tweets, “The king of @Tollywood and Jana Sena Party, @PawanKalyan will be speaking at IndiaConference2017 at Harvard. @indiaconf2017 @JanaSenaOnline.” The page also tweeted, “Really looking forward to having R. Madhavan @ActorMadhavan as a speaker at IndiaConference 2017 in February at Harvard University, Boston.”

The actors have shared their elation at being chosen and that ‘they can’t wait’ for the day. The event is one of the world’s largest student managed conferences. It will be a discussion of India’s global leadership in the future. Many business leaders and experts will be present and take part in the conference. The India Conference will be hosted by the Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School by the graduate students of Harvard University.

The Jana Sena leader, Pawan Kalyan has always been vocal about his views on many issues. He has time and again questioned the government on the issue of patriotism. Speaking about the compulsory playing on National Anthem in movie theaters, a ruled passed by the SC, he tweeted, “True patriotism will come into the experience when an individual or political party goes beyond caste, creed, class, religion, region, ethnic n linguistic differences,” and questioned who he has to prove his patriotism to. He also asked as to why the theaters were turned into a test of individual’s love for the country.

Madhavan is one of the very few actors in the film industry who has a cross country audience. He is also one of the very few highly educated actors, with training from the British Royal Army, Royal Navy and British Airforce, which he considered joining back then. He was also trained in Canada as a cadet of NCC and lived in Alberta for a year. While pursuing his masters in Mumbai, he also won the Indian Championship for Public Speaking and represented India at Tokyo, Japan in 1992 at the Young Businessmen Conference.

The choice of the two actors, hence an apt one for speaking at the India Conference at Harvard as they have time and again proven their mettle.
