Islamabad: The authorities of Punjab’s Child Protection Bureau busted the biggest scandal of inappropriate videos of children in the country. Nearly 400 videos of 280 children have been seized by the officials. The scandal has shook the nation as many children were exploited physically.
Only six have been arrested and five of whom have been remanded in custody. According to reports, nearly 25 young men and teenagers led by two men in their 40s are involved in organising such acts. The parents of the victims alleged that a few influential people are behind the gang and protecting them.
One of the victims said that he was abducted and taken to a deserted place when he was just nine years old. He added that they administered a spinal injection and then assaulted by several men. The victim said that after six months, they showed him the video when he refused to perform such acts.
Reports say that all the victims were under 14 years of age and they were forced to do such acts. After filming the inappropriate acts, thousands of copies of the videos were made and have been sold in the village of Hussain Khanwala in Kasur district. The members of the gang would sell the video content overseas for huge amount as they have contacts in western countries through Skype, according to the parents of the victims.
Besides making money from selling the videos, the gang would also blackmail the parents of the victims. They demand millions of rupees from the villagers saying that they would shame them by exposing the videos if they fail to pay them. Afraid of losing fame in the village, the poor parents would sell their belongings and pay the gang, according to parents.
A parent said that they had to sell their valuables to pay Rs 600,000 to the gang to delete the videos but still the blackmailers won’t to delete them.
