London: The royal baby Charlotte is all set to be christened in a low-key affair today in St Mary Magdalene church. The little princess will be baptised by using an ornate royal font shaped like a lily, according to reports. The newest member in the royal family will make her second public appearance with parents Prince William and Kate. The royal couple is expected to make their appearance for the first time with their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, at the ceremony as a family.
It is heard that the ornate royal font has been transported to Sandringham from the Tower of London for the christening ceremony. The ceremony will be held in the church, where Princess of Wales, Diana was christened.
Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Kate’s parents – Michael Middleton and Carole, her siblings James Middleton and Pippa are expected to witness the ceremony, due to start at 4.30 pm. Prince Harry will not attend the religious service as he is busy working on projects.
The princess will be baptised with water from the River Jordan by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury. Two years ago, the same water was used for Prince George at the christening.
