A female employee of Bank of America committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling. The incident took place on Sunday evening at Sudharshan Nagar, Gachibowli. The reason behind the suicide was cruel harassment by her husband, Girish Narasimhan who was demanding additional dowry. The victim, P. Padmaja sent an SMS to her husband informing that she is going to commit suicide. But Girish, who was outside watching India Pakistan Cricket match initially ignored it. Later, as her phone was not being attended, Girish alerted one of his relatives to visit his house. Girish was informed by his relative that Padmaja was found hanging. She was then taken to KIMS hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
The police inspector, Chandrasekhar said the victim, P. Padmaja who works in the back end operations of BOA was found hanging.
“The victim’s parents alleged Padmaja has been harassed by the accused and on Sunday they had an argument over Girish’s missing vest. It was subsequent to this development, the victim committed suicide,” said the Inspector.
Based on the complaint given by Padmaja’s parents, the police registered a case under 304 b(Dowry death) of IPC against Girish and three other family members who are also involved in harassing the lady. The accused is under police custody and is being questioned.
