Indresh Kumar, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader, on the 28th of January, claimed, Naseeruddin Shah, Aamir Khan and Navjot Singh Sidhu are traitors.

Mr. Kumar addressed the media after attending a public event in Aligarh and said, “They (Naseeruddin Shah, Aamir Khan and Navjot Singh Sidhu) may be good actors but they don’t deserve respect as they are traitors. They are like Mir Jafar and Jaichand.”

Referring to the Muslim youth in India, Kumar said, the Country does not need Muslim youth like Kasab, Yakut and Ishrat Jahan. Instead, the Nation wants people like A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and youth who follow Mr. Kalam.

Kumar stated, “India doesn’t need Muslim youth like Kasab, Yakub, and Ishrat Jahan but rather those who walk on the path shown by Kalam. Those who walk on the path of Kasab will be considered only as traitors.”

Indresh Kumar also took a dig at the Indian National Congress (INC) and blamed the Party for the delay in the hearing of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir case.

Mr. Kumar said, “The first reason for the delay in the construction of Ram Temple is Congress, second are the Left parties, third is the communal religious forces and the fourth are a few judges who are delaying justice. I appeal to the saints and sadhus to sit on dharna outside the Congress office, offices of the Left parties and outside the house of Judges who are delaying the matter.”

The Babri Masjid and Ram Janmabhoomi dispute, also known as the Ram Mandir case, is a long standing issue for a portion of land in Ayodhya. The Babri Masjid was broken down by Hindu extremists who believed Lord Ram was born at the exact spot where the Masjid was built. The case is pending in the Supreme Court (SC.) The SC, in the last hearing, adjourned the court and scheduled the next hearing for the 29th of January. The resolution of the case is also said to be the main agenda of the BJP, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled between April and May 2019. The major parties contesting are the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
