THE STORIES OF UNSUNG HEROES

It takes courage and determination to stand out from the regular bunch of people and do something that inspires the world. The story of Dashrath Manjhi touched our hearts and like him, there are many unsung heroes whose story is untold and unheard.

I am going to share with you a list of 5 unsung heroes that worked relentlessly towards a cause that they firmly believed in..
1) NANDAL MASTER

Can you imagine that a weaver from Varanasi would go on a mission to empower women? Nandal Master has the vision to abolish child labour and give women the right to live life their way and is also putting efforts to promote inter-caste marriages.

Apart from women empowerment, he started a center of learning to educate the children from villages. Families get their children married because their standard of living is low and can’t afford to educate them. So he decided to open a school for children whose family cannot afford to educate them. He has also conducted more than 700 weddings for families below poverty line.nandlal-master

Popularly known as the “Medicine Baba”, Omkarnath collects free medicines for the poor and needy from houses that are well off. In 2008 when a bridge collapsed in Delhi, hospitals did not have the required medicines due to which many people were left untreated. This triggered him to begin his mission!

Today, he walks 5 to 7 km every day collecting non-prescription medicines.
