Ambajipet: Virendra Kumar, a resident of Ambajipeta mandal in Konaseema district, has returned home safely after being deceived by an agent who promised him a better future in the Gulf. Virendra, who went to Saudi Arabia seeking financial support for his family, was forced to work among camels in harsh desert conditions.
For 15 grueling days, Virendra endured extreme conditions with scarce access to drinking water. Desperate and distressed, he recorded a selfie video documenting his plight and sent it to a friend, tagging Minister Lokesh in a post on ‘X’. The video quickly gained attention, prompting a swift response from the TDP NRI department.
Minister Lokesh, upon learning about Virendra’s dire situation, took immediate action. He liaised with the department to facilitate the necessary measures for his return. Thanks to the minister’s intervention, Virendra arrived in Hyderabad on July 26 and subsequently made his way back to his village.
Expressing his relief and gratitude, Virendra thanked Minister Lokesh for his prompt assistance, which was crucial in ensuring his safe return home.
