Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice Abdul Nazir emphasized the state’s economic recovery and infrastructure development under the NDA government while addressing both houses during the budget session on Monday. He attributed the state’s financial struggles from 2019-24 to mismanagement, resource exploitation, and policy failures of the previous administration, stating that 25 years of future income was lost due to tax diversions.

Key Announcements in the Governor’s Address

Economic Restoration & Investments: The NDA-led government is reviving 74 out of 93 central schemes, attracting ₹6.5 lakh crore investments, and creating 4 lakh jobs with companies like Google, Tata Power, and ArcelorMittal Steel.

✅ Polavaram & Infrastructure: Polavaram project and Amaravati capital works have been resumed, with completion expected by 2027. The government aims to connect Polavaram with Banakacharla and integrate Uttarandhra water projects.

✅ Welfare & Social Security: The Family Benefit Card will ensure seamless welfare delivery, while pensions have been increased to ₹4,000 per month, benefiting 95.44 lakh families.

✅ Education & Healthcare: The government will establish a 100-bedded hospital in each constituency and launch hybrid health insurance covering claims up to ₹25 lakh under NTR Vaidya Seva.

✅ Skill Development & Governance: A skill census is underway, and 200 skill hubs will support employment. 161 citizen services will be available via WhatsApp governance—a first in India.

Future Vision

The state is implementing the Swarnandhra-2047 plan, aiming for 15%+ annual growth with speedy approvals for 800+ companies across 4,700 acres. Measures are also in place to avoid electricity tariff hikes in 2025-26.

With a focus on education, healthcare, irrigation, and industrial growth, the government aims to restore Brand Andhra’s former glory.
