New Delhi: Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, emphasized the state’s conducive environment for industries at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum Leadership Summit in New Delhi. Lokesh highlighted that Andhra Pradesh offers better incentives than other states for setting up industries, positioning itself as a hub for start-ups and innovation.

Speaking at the summit, chaired by JC-2 Ventures founder John Chambers, Lokesh praised the contributions of start-ups during the recent cyclone in the state. He expressed confidence that Andhra Pradesh will create 20 lakh jobs with private sector cooperation.

Lokesh also discussed the state’s efforts to streamline industrial development, including the revival of the Economic Development Board and the introduction of a Single Point of Contact system for industrial approvals. A skill census is underway, collecting micro-level data to enhance employment opportunities.

He noted Andhra Pradesh’s goal to become a “Vikasitha Andhra Pradesh” by 2047, in line with Prime Minister Modi’s vision. Plans for Visakhapatnam’s development as an IT and pharma hub, and Amaravati as a world-class greenfield capital, were also discussed.
