Amaravati: In a major development, GV Reddy resigned as Chairman of AP Fibernet Limited on Monday, following serious allegations against AP Fibernet MD Dinesh Kumar. Along with this, he also stepped down from his role as TDP’s national representative and quit the party’s primary membership.
In his resignation letter to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Reddy expressed gratitude for the opportunity and stated that he will return to legal practice, with no intention of joining any political party in the future. The CM accepted his resignation, and shortly after, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand issued orders transferring Dinesh Kumar. The IAS officer was also removed from key positions, including CEO of Realtime Governance Society, MD of AP Gas Infrastructure Corporation, and MD of AP Drone Corporation, and placed on a waiting list without any posting.
Allegations of Treason and Mismanagement
Last week, GV Reddy accused MD Dinesh Kumar and other officials of financial misconduct, claiming they colluded with private firms to harm AP Fibernet’s revenue. He highlighted inefficiencies in service expansion and alleged that over ₹1.5 crore in salaries was paid to non-working employees.
With growing concerns over governance at AP Fibernet, CM Chandrababu Naidu took the issue seriously, reprimanding both officials and swiftly ordering corrective action.
