Amaravati: In a significant move aimed at supporting Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to allot free house plots. The Revenue Department, through an order issued by Special Chief Secretary, outlined the eligibility criteria and guidelines for this initiative.
As per the order, beneficiaries will receive a conveyance deed granting freehold rights to the allotted house plots. However, these freehold rights will come with a time restriction of ten years. The state government has also mandated that beneficiaries construct their homes within two years of receiving the land lease.
The initiative ensures that each eligible individual receives a free homestead plot only once in their lifetime. To qualify, applicants must not own a house or land anywhere in the state and must not be beneficiaries of any central or state housing schemes.
This step aligns with the government’s mission to provide housing security to economically disadvantaged families across Andhra Pradesh. The guidelines aim to ensure transparency and fairness in the allocation process while promoting timely construction and utilization of the allocated land.
