Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has regularized the suspension period of retired IPS officer AB Venkateswara Rao. The officer was suspended twice during the tenure of the Jagan-led government. The first suspension spanned from February 2020 to February 7, 2022, while the second lasted from June 28, 2022, to May 30, 2024.
In a recent order, the government streamlined these suspension periods as part of official duties. It clarified that all pending salaries and allowances for AB Venkateswara Rao during these periods would be paid. Additionally, if the suspension status remains unresolved, the ordered payments will be processed accordingly.
Notably, the state government had recently withdrawn charges previously filed against the retired officer.
This decision highlights the government’s step toward resolving administrative matters concerning retired officials.
