Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has reaffirmed its commitment to the previous land allotment policy for Amaravati’s development. A committee of ministers, led by Municipal Administration Minister Narayana, reviewed the land allotment process for institutions in the capital city. Ministers Payyavula Keshav, Kollu Ravindra, TG Bharat, and Kandula Durgesh attended the meeting.
Speaking to the media, Minister Narayana revealed that out of the 131 previously allotted land parcels, 31 organizations will retain their original allotments, two will receive land at new locations, and 16 will see modifications in area and scope. He emphasized that between 2014 and 2019, 34,000 acres of land were pooled from farmers for Amaravati’s construction, with ₹9,000 crore already spent on infrastructure before the previous government halted progress.
Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav highlighted that Amaravati was designed as a self-sustaining project, with funding structured through the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) to avoid burdening the state exchequer. He criticized the previous administration for delaying the capital’s development and argued that had Amaravati and the Polavaram project been completed earlier, the state could have prioritized district-level growth.
