Tirupati: Senior YSR Congress Party leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy launched a sharp attack on former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of betraying the trust of the people of Andhra Pradesh. Reddy criticized Naidu’s failure to fulfill his promises, which he had made during his election campaign, including financial assistance under schemes like “Thalli ki Vandanam,” Rs. 20,000 for farmers, and Rs. 3,000 unemployment allowance. According to Reddy, Naidu made these pledges but later justified their non-implementation by citing a financial crisis.
Reddy also addressed Naidu’s contradictory statements on the state’s debt, which fluctuated between Rs. 14 lakh crore to Rs. 10 lakh crore, in contrast to the lower debt incurred under the leadership of Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He claimed that while Jagan’s focus was on welfare and development, Naidu’s governance was plagued by deceit and false propaganda, labeling him the “Buddha of Lies.”
Reddy further condemned Naidu for actions such as cutting pensions for over 5 lakh beneficiaries, increasing electricity tariffs, and promoting widespread liquor sales, which, according to him, led to the rise of belt shops and illegal bars in the state. He urged the public to reject Naidu’s politics and support a governance model centered on welfare and progress.
