Tirupati: Former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman and senior YSRCP leader Bhumana Karunakara Reddy has demanded a comprehensive probe into the reported deaths of cows at the TTD Goshala. Speaking to the media on Monday, he strongly refuted official claims and called out the conflicting statements from TTD officials and the Chief Minister.
Reddy stated that while TTD EO Shyamala Rao admitted 43 deaths and Chairman B.R. Naidu claimed 22, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu declared there were no deaths—highlighting serious discrepancies. He released photos of the dead cows and challenged authorities to prove they were doctored, swearing by God on their authenticity.
Dismissing TTD’s explanation that the cows died of old age, Reddy pointed out that many were young calves. He accused the administration of negligence, including use of expired medicines, lack of proper feed, and failure to uphold desi cow breeding programs.
He also condemned alleged threats from Chairman B.R. Naidu of state-wide criminal cases and declared he was ready to face jail for protecting the sanctity of TTD and devotees’ sentiments.
Bhumana emphasized that the issue should not be politicized and urged for immediate corrective action to restore faith in TTD’s administration.
