Amaravati: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Botsa Satyanarayana, strongly criticized the Governor’s address, calling it lacking in direction and filled with politically charged remarks. He condemned references to “destruction by the previous government” as deplorable and misleading.

Botsa also took aim at Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, stating that his comments on opposition recognition were uninformed. He justified the YSRCP’s boycott of the session, emphasizing that the speech was irrelevant. He clarified that YSRCP has no objection to Pawan Kalyan being recognized as the Opposition Leader, as it is based on seat count, not vote share, despite YSRCP securing a higher vote percentage.

Dismissing arguments about session attendance, he explained that YSRCP attended the address only to highlight its stance to the public. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to responding to the Speaker’s queries while acting as a responsible opposition.

Botsa further demanded a probe into mass resignations of university Vice-Chancellors, citing alleged coercion and favoritism in their replacements. He also criticized the government for ignoring Group-2 exam candidates’ concerns, calling it an insult to the CM.
