Amaravati: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu relaunched the Anna Canteen at Gudivada on Thursday, emphasizing that the initiative aims to ensure no one goes hungry in Andhra Pradesh. The canteens, which offer meals at just Rs 5, are a lifeline for the poor, daily-wage earners, and laborers, according to the Chief Minister.

Chandrababu Naidu, joined by his wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari, shared a meal with the public at the newly reopened Gudivada canteen. He announced that a total of 203 Anna Canteens would be operational across the state by the end of September, with an estimated daily expenditure of Rs 53 lakh to maintain them.

The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of the Anna Canteens, which draw inspiration from TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao and the legendary Mrs. Dokka Seethamma, known for her selfless service in feeding the hungry. He expressed his satisfaction in relaunching the program on Independence Day, noting that this effort would be sustained permanently.

Chandrababu criticized the previous government for shutting down the canteens and assured that his administration is committed to maintaining them without disruption. He also invited public donations to support the canteens, providing an SBI account number for contributions.
