Bengaluru:  Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has firmly denied any involvement in the Mysore Urban Development Corporation (MUDA) scam. Addressing reporters on Friday, Siddaramaiah accused the BJP and JDS of orchestrating efforts to destabilize his government.

Siddaramaiah, who is challenging Governor Thavarchand Gahlot’s permission for an investigation into the MUDA scam, stated that arguments on his petition are ongoing in the High Court. He emphasized that the court’s decision is awaited.

In response to the investigation’s progress, Siddaramaiah revealed plans to meet with the Governor, alongside Congress leaders and Members of Parliament, on Saturday. They will request an inquiry into pending cases against JDS leaders, including Union Minister H. A. Kumaraswamy, and former BJP ministers. Siddaramaiah noted that while investigations against these figures are complete and charge sheets are pending, his own investigation is still incomplete.

On the topic of Operation Kamal, Siddaramaiah admitted its existence but criticized it, asserting that the BJP relies on such tactics to gain power rather than the support of the electorate. He asserted that destabilizing the Congress party, which holds 136 MLAs, is not due to Operation Kamal and expressed confidence that his MLAs would not be swayed by financial incentives.
